Position Title: Project Coordinator, Bridging Program

Status: FT Admin Temp (Contract: June 12, 2023 - June 7, 2024)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Faculty/Department: Community Outreach and Workforce Development

Campus/Location: North Campus; hybrid arrangement

Salary: NFT Admin. Band 3: Min. $56,868 – Max. $85,302


What you will do:

The Project Coordinator, Bridging Program is responsible for program planning, management, and day to day administration of the Engineering bridging program for internationally trained individuals (ITI’s), funded by an external funder to Humber College. The incumbent is responsible for the day to day assignment of work and supervision of program staff, ensuring that the needs of the students are met, and employment targets are attained. Additional duties include program promotion and marketing, recruiting, and screening of applicants, assessing student progress, providing supports and/or referrals for program participants (students) according to their needs, liaising with community partners and employers, and coordinating student bursaries. The incumbent works collaboratively with a Faculty at Humber College that is responsible for delivering the technical training in the program.

Depending on departmental need, a Project Coordinator may be assigned to coordinate a bridging program other than the one they are hired for.


What you bring to the role:

Education:
Preference will be given to candidates with a degree/diploma (at least 3 years) in social work, business or public administration, or related field.

Experience and Skills:
3-5 years of experience in bridging programs, community employment or settlement services. Knowledge of the Engineering-Architecture field, Ontario labour market demands in the field, and project management principles are considered strong assets.

A demonstrated awareness of cultural diversity, settlement and integration issues pertaining to newcomers to Canada is critical to be successful in this role. This position requires excellent project management, leadership, communication, and team building skills, superior organizational and problem-solving abilities, and sound financial monitoring experience. Candidates should also have a proven commitment to customer and community service.
