Business Development Manager, Sports


Tradable Bits is an award-winning technology company that helps sports and music brands build better fan experiences. We’re charting the path to personalized fan experiences for live events. We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Business Development Manager to help grow our partners in sports.


Our ideal candidate will be abreast of industry trends and have a passion for sports with a keen understanding of how sports and technology intersect. You’ll be responsible for ensuring we remain atop the sports industry in fan engagement and digital innovation by helping bring on new sports partners. Get excited to engage and network with some of the biggest names in sports, helping us grow our sports vertical.


What You Will Do:


  • Identify sales opportunities across teams, leagues, and sports organizations to grow our sports verticals
  • Attentively build and manage a pipeline of prospective partners that are in various stages of the sales cycle
  • Work cross-departmentally to execute against multiple sales needs
  • Diligently update and maintain our sales software tools (Hubspot, Gong) to ensure our sales targets and KPIs are tracked and met
  • Identify multiple key stakeholders within a partner organization and build credibility
  • Represent our company at industry events and relay market intelligence to our team
  • Help partners develop ideas and strategies that creatively use our platform
  • Stay informed of current developments in the sports and tech industries
  • Quickly master our platform and make data-backed suggestions on how we can improve
  • Collaborate with Development team to scope and identify new sales opportunities for professional services


Who You Are:

  • 3+ years in the sports industry or B2B sales including corporate partnerships, agency or SaaS sales
  • Have an existing network within the sports industry that you can tap into
  • Product savvy with a deep understanding of technology and digital marketing trends
  • Entrepreneurial hustle mentality
  • Excellent at building, maintaining, and executing strategic business growth plans
  • Passionate networker who loves meeting new people and building relationships
  • Compelling storyteller with excellent presentation-building and delivery skills
  • Collaborative team player happy to work with the product, customer success and marketing teams
  • Articulate professionally with exceptional communication skills and a sense of humour
  • Excellent problem solver with analytical skills and strong influencing abilities
  • Comfortable communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical partners
  • Strong attention to detail while still grasping the bigger picture of any opportunity
  • Takes initiative, and manages your own workload with excellent time management skills
  • Strong facility for negotiating contracts, interpreting legal documents, and working with attorneys to write and complete agreements
  • Major team player that genuinely cares about the company’s overall success

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding and passion for sports business, the sports technology space, and understanding the network of people within these industries
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Business, Economics or Computer Science preferred but not required
  • Minimum three years experience in the sports or sales industry. Experience in sports marketing, corporate partnerships, agency sales or SaaS sales are a plus.
  • Significant experience successfully managing partnerships with large companies and demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex business issues
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment and ability to adapt quickly
  • Experience working with all levels of management (externally and internally) and communicating cross-functionally in a structured and clear manner
